SUMMARY:Quantum Computing at the DOE Laboratories: Status and Future Direc
 tions
DESCRIPTION:Birds of a Feather\n\nQuantum Computing at the DOE Laboratorie
s: Status and Future Directions\n\nHumble, Alexeev, McGuigan, Spentzouris,
Dubois...\n\nQuantum computing is developing rapidly as a key research to
pic with the potential to influence future generations of high-performance
computing as well as other information technology. Quantum computers are
also anticipated to enable a variety of new computing applications that ad
dress the multidisciplinary missions of the Department of Energy (DOE) for
scientific discovery and national security. This BoF will focus on the ro
le of quantum computing in research at the DOE national laboratories and t
he growing interactions with the broader HPC user community as well as exc
iting future research directions that arise from these new relationships.\
