SUMMARY:Reconfigurable/FPGA Clusters for High Performance Computing
DESCRIPTION:Birds of a Feather\n\nReconfigurable/FPGA Clusters for High Pe
rformance Computing\n\nHerbordt, Boku, Cappello, Maruyama, Putnam...\n\nFP
GA-Centric Clusters (FCCs) co-locate computation and communication to pote
ntially yield unmatched scalability for HPC applications. FCCs have made
inroads in certain domains—cloud, finance, bioinformatics, oil & gas, etc.
—and are the object of much academic research with more than a dozen major
efforts under way. However, nearly all aspects of building FCC systems ar
e still ad hoc. In this BoF, leading researchers from industry, governmen
t, and academia will present the state-of-the-art in applications, archite
cture, programming productivity, and communication targeting FCCs. Discuss
ion will aim at determining best practices and creating a roadmap towards
future FCC-enable supercomputing. Audience participation is highly encoura
ged.\n\nTag: Tech Program Reg Pass, Exhibits Reg Pass, Exhibits - Exhibit
