Biography
Sandra Gesing is an Associate Research Professor and a Computational Scientist at the University of Notre Dame. She is a Co-PI of URSSI, a Co-PI on “Coordinating Curricula and User Preferences to Maximize the Participation of Women and Students of Color in Engineering”, and the lead on the SGCI area to build on-campus groups for creating science gateways and spinning up the program for gateway ambassadors. She engages in multiple initiatives supporting research computing sustainability, e.g., as a steering committee member for the US-RSE community, a presenter at ACI-REF Virtual Residency since 2017, and a co-organizer of WSSSPE events.

Research interests include science gateways, workflows, and distributed and parallel computing. Dr. Gesing received her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Tübingen, Germany, in 2013. For more information, please visit http://sandra-gesing.com/
