Ken Schmidt has been a High Performance Computing Engineer at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory since 2003. He has worked on three top 25 clusters on the top500 list. During that time, he was the administrator for the HPC networks and system interconnects. Additionally, he developed various software including the Master hardware inventory tracker, NWPerf a performance monitoring suite, and he contributed code to various open source projects, including the DnUp routing algorithms for OpenSM. He is currently the lead administrator on Cascade where he is responsible for managing the system availability, the system software, and hardware maintenance.
