Biography
Sam Ade Jacobs is a Computer Scientist in the Center for Applied Scientific Computing (CASC) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Texas A&M University. Sam’s broad research experiences and interests include parallel computing, large-scale graph (data) analytics, machine (deep) learning, and robotics.

Prior to joining LLNL, Sam had a brief stint in academia and industry where he participated in or led a number of academic, industrial, and open source projects. His current work focuses on developing new algorithms for large scale deep learning with applications in cancer drug discovery (the exascale CANDLE and CANCER moonshot projects), global nuclear non-proliferation analysis, and inertial confinement fusion (ICF) large-scale simulation and experimental data analysis.
