Forrest Shriver
Biography
Forrest Shriver is a nuclear engineering Ph.D. student at the University of Florida, currently working on his thesis on using machine learning techniques for reactor parameter prediction. His current passion projects are, in order: performance modeling of cross-section lookup algorithms on GPUs and other novel acceleration platforms such as FPGAs, and study of optimization algorithms and techniques for the nuclear fuel shuffling problem (which suffers from the infamous combinatorial explosion). In his spare time he enjoys travel and the occasional video game.
