Seetharami Seelam
Biography
Seetharami Seelam is a Research Staff Member in the Cloud and Cognitive Platforms Research group at the T. J. Watson Research Center. He is an expert at delivering applications, middleware, compute, and accelerators as-a-service in the cloud. He has delivered Autoscaling, Business Rules, Containers in Bluemix cloud and POWER, GPUs and Deep Learning services in internal cloud. He also drives work in IBM Research on various aspects related to Docker, POWER, and Z platforms. Seetharami has extensive experience in data centric computing, hybrid systems, workload optimized systems, parallel and distributed systems, HPC, operating systems, resource management and system performance evaluation for commercial and scientific workloads. Seetharami has filed more than 30 patents (15 issued), published over 35 papers: received two best paper awards, one outstanding paper award at major conferences. Currently he is leading the work to bring hybrid container service on IBM Systems including DL capabilities. He is also leading the work to enable GPUs in Mesos and Kubernetes with the respective communities.
