Yidong Xia

Biography
Dr. Yidong Xia is a computational physics and high-performance computing scientist for the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Idaho National Laboratory (INL). His research expertise and leadership span fields including computational fluid dynamics, subsurface sciences, geothermal energy, biomass and bioenergy, and nuclear energy. Dr. Xia currently serves as the principal investigator (PI) for INL as a primary partner in an Energy Frontier Research Center by the University of Utah under the DOE Office of Science - Basic Energy Sciences program. He is also the PI for two supercomputing allocation projects supported by DOE’s Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility under the DOE Office of Science - Advanced Scientific Computing Research program. In addition, Dr. Xia serve as the PI for an INL Laboratory Directed Research & Development (LDRD) project for exascale scientific computing research for hydrocarbon nanofluidics.
