Biography
Quinn Jacobson, Ph.D., currently serves as Strategic Architect for Achronix where he defines and implements the current and next generation of FPGA-based reconfigurable accelerators. Quinn has spent his career tackling chip and system architecture challenges. He designed the world’s first commercial soft-core processor for FPGAs at Altera and served as the chief architect for Sun Microsystems’ first two generations of multi-core SPARC processors. He also spent time at Intel and Nokia leading a range of software and hardware projects. He founded and served as CEO for a Vibrado Technologies, a wearable technology company that created smart apparel that could perform motion capture, biomechanical analysis, and provide constructive feedback all in real-time. Quinn has a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and is an inventor for 68 granted US patents.
