Biography
Elisabeth Mayer is a Virtual Reality (VR) and multimedia expert and specializes in 3D, game engines, VR, and animation. She has been at the Centre for Virtual Reality and Visualisation (V2C) of the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities for over two years. The Powerwall and five-sided projection installation in the V2C allow users to view data on high-resolution, stereo-capable hardware and with interactive navigation. In addition to providing scientists with access to high-end hardware, the V2C also provides various VR software for scientific visualization. Projects at the V2C range from data visualization to art history and medicine as well as from VR applications to video projects. Having started as a student employee and later joining the team of the V2C full time, Elisabeth focuses on VR applications as well as the rendering and preparation of multimedia content.
